Never sailed Rhossi before so asked some guys in a van and they said they were kiters now but would have used 5.5m,so rigged 5.2m, then discovered most others were on 4-4.5m. Before I went out one guy said waves for Rhossi were normal, but they were much bigger than I expected breaking out to sea and over mast high form trough to lip. Bit scarey seeing some of those monsters coming towards me and got rinsed a few times. Glad I had a big sail as I need the power to get out of the way and waterstart my way out of trouble. Had some fantastic rides in smooth water between waves and quite a few turns came off, though those that did to usually meant trouble. I figured out why no one went as far out as I did whwn I saw some rocks, heard a ping and lost my fin. Got washed in with my rig from a fair way out; could have been a lot worse. Great place to sail, just a bit scarier than I expected.
